O'Mega Red takes this name from the character first appeared in X-Men #4 (vol. 2, January 1992),and was created by Jim Lee and Scott Lobdell.

O'Mega Red also known as Robert Grant is an African American rapper, CEO and record producer of The Stay Grindin Music Group, and record label executive, of Stay Grindin[1]' Inc. and an occasional actor. He is better known by his stage name O'mega Red and takes the name from Omega and having red undertones in his hair and skin.

Early life

O'Mega Red was born in Boston, Massachusetts, a native of Dorchester (St. Matthews Parish). His parents are of Native American, Black and Irish descent. He attended John F Kennedy Middle School in Randolph, MA. He is a graduate of Blue Hills Technical High School. After high school, Grant joined the Air Force. He currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.

Music career

O'mega Red started 2008 recording the single "Turn It Around" featuring William Raymond "Ray J" Norwood Jr. Following up with the success of this record, O'mega Red has recorded three singles "She Luvs It," "Endz" and "Quota Boy" produced by Noel "Detail" Fisher of Konvict Muzik for O'mega Red's forthcoming album Red October. Also for the album, Omega Red is honored to have recorded with living legend KRS One for the single "Hip Hop," produced by Duane "DaRock" Ramos. He also collaborated with Rampage, CEO of the Flipmode Squad, on the track "Jump." His production team, The Jugganatuz recently remixed the title track of Donna Summer's hit album "Crayons" featuring his self and Ziggy Marley.

O'mega Red's music singles "Soul Clap," "Magic" and "Forever Young" have been spun by radio and club DJ's nationwide. He has also maintained his exposure through the release of two mixtapes, one of which was hosted by Boston's JAMN 94.5's DJ Roy Barboza and the second by DJ Sammy Smoove. O'mega Red has been featured in Source Magazine for Best of the Best Underground Mixtapes, and was a top ten finalist in the Toyota Scion Next Up competition. O'mega Red's musical impact in the Boston scene has not gone unnoticed by the Boston Globe, which did a major feature on him in April 2007. Awards

O'Mega Red is a two time recipient of the New England Urban Music Awards Rap Artist of the Year (2006–2007). His production team the Jugganautz also won Producer of the year 2006. Film career

O'Mega Red played a small role as an orderly in the Paramount Pictures film Shutter Island directed by Martin Scorsese and featuring Leonardo DiCaprio. He also played a gang member in the indie film Roid Rage, produced by Wicked Pissa films.
